Turaki-led PDP Rejects Claims of Excluding Presidential Aspirants From Nomination Process

The Kabiru Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party has denied reports alleging that some presidential aspirants were prevented from purchasing nomination forms ahead of the party’s forthcoming presidential primary election.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the faction’s spokesperson, Ini Ememobong, described the allegations as false and misleading, stressing that the nomination process remained open and transparent to all eligible aspirants.
According to the statement, no individual seeking the party’s presidential ticket was barred or restricted from obtaining the required forms, contrary to speculations circulating in some quarters.
The faction maintained that it remains committed to due process, internal democracy, and ensuring a fair playing ground for all contestants participating in the PDP’s primary election.
The development comes amid persistent internal wrangling within the opposition party as rival factions continue reconciliation efforts ahead of key political activities.
