JAMB Releases 279 Withheld UTME Results After Investigation

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released 279 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination results that were previously withheld over suspected irregularities during the 2026 examination process.
The board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, explaining that the results were released after a thorough review and investigation by the examination body.
According to JAMB, the affected results had initially been placed on hold to allow the board verify issues detected during the examination and result processing stages. Following the completion of the screening exercise, the candidates involved were cleared, leading to the release of their scores.
Benjamin stated that the board remains committed to upholding transparency, fairness, and the integrity of the UTME, stressing that all cases of suspected malpractice or technical concerns are carefully investigated before final decisions are taken.
JAMB also assured candidates and stakeholders that it would continue to strengthen its monitoring and verification processes to ensure credibility in the conduct of public examinations across the country.
