Abia APC Congratulates Members as Eric Opah Emerges Governorship Candidate


 The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has congratulated party members and stakeholders following the emergence of Chief Eric Opah as the party’s governorship candidate.

 
Opah secured the APC governorship ticket after the primaries conducted across the 184 wards in the state on Thursday.
 
According to a statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Uche Aguoru, Opah polled 125,977 votes to defeat his closest rival, Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh, who scored 5,905 votes.
 
The party commended aspirants, electoral officials, party faithful, and stakeholders for what it described as a peaceful, transparent, and credible primary election process.
 
The statement noted that the conduct of the exercise reflected the growing unity and strength of the APC in Abia State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
 
“We commend all aspirants, party faithful, electoral officials, and stakeholders for their commitment to a peaceful, transparent, and credible primary election process which reflects the growing strength and unity of the APC in Abia State,” the statement read.
 
The party also expressed confidence in Opah’s leadership ability and capacity to lead the APC to victory in the next governorship election.
 
“We are confident that Chief Eric Opah possesses the leadership capacity, vision, and experience required to lead our party to victory in the 2027 general elections and return the Government House to Umuahia under the banner of the APC,” the statement added.
 
The APC further urged members and supporters to remain united and committed as the party intensifies preparations for the elections.
