OBJ Flags Off Empowerment Programme in Ìwó, Promises Grants and University Certification for Beneficiaries

Aspirant for the Osun State House of Assembly representing Ìwó State Constituency, Hon. Osunwo Biliaminu Jide (OBJ), has officially flagged off his empowerment and skill acquisition programme in Ìwó, attracting community leaders, political figures, and hundreds of beneficiaries.
The event was formally declared open by Alhaji Alidu Tiamiyu Adeoye, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ìwó Local Government, who attended alongside his entourage, including the party secretary and Hon. Muraina.
Other dignitaries present included High Chief Asape of Oke Isaji, Chief Kasali Omotayo, and representatives of the Ìwó Councilors’ Forum, among them Hon. Prince Asafa Najeem Tadese, Hon. Olanrewaju Mutiu Ballack, and Hon. Mojeed Alafe (Baale), who stood in for all 15 councilors in the constituency.
Also in attendance was Hon. Sarafa Fatai Abidemi, representing the Isale Oba Lokan group and himself an aspirant for the State Assembly seat.
More than 250 participants benefited from the skill acquisition and employment initiative, which aims to promote self-reliance and reduce unemployment within the community. The flag-off doubled as the first class session, with trainees divided into groups for effective learning and engagement.
Speaking at the event, Hon. OBJ reiterated his commitment to youth empowerment and sustainable job creation. He pledged to provide financial grants to participants once elected and assured that the programme would continue to grow in scope and impact.
According to him, the empowerment initiative is university-certified, and successful participants will receive formal certification upon completion an added advantage to enhance their employability and entrepreneurial prospects.
