Osogbo,
The Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for calm among its members in Ife Federal Constituency following a communiqué issued by some stakeholders on Monday, September 1, 2025, which reportedly passed a vote of no confidence on certain party leaders.
In a statement signed by the State Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, the party directed members and stakeholders in the constituency to suspend any further actions that could escalate the crisis. He emphasized that the situation must be handled strictly through the party’s conflict resolution mechanisms.
The PDP reaffirmed its respect for senior leaders, particularly the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Prince Kola Adewusi, and Prof. Wale Oladipo, a member of the PDP Board of Trustees, describing them as “critical pillars” of the party. It cautioned that grievances against such leaders should not be expressed through unilateral pronouncements or public declarations.
The party also warned that it would not tolerate any act capable of undermining its authority or violating its rules and procedures.
As part of efforts to restore peace, the state chapter disclosed that it has summoned the concerned stakeholders to a meeting aimed at resolving the dispute in the spirit of unity and brotherhood.
Bisi urged all contending forces in Ife to sheath their swords and embrace peace, stressing that party discipline and cohesion remain vital to the expectations of the people of Osun State.
