Deji Bello Disrupts Peaceful Primary Election in Ayedire/Iwo/Ola-Oluwa Federal Constituency

Fresh controversy has trailed the primary election conducted in the Ayedire/Iwo/Ola-Oluwa Federal Constituency following allegations that Hon. Deji Bello disrupted the peaceful exercise despite the party’s consensus arrangement.

The primary election was organised to affirm the candidature of the lawmaker representing the constituency, Hon. Lukman Alani Mudashir, popularly known as L&K. Sources disclosed that the process initially commenced peacefully before some suspected thugs allegedly stormed the venue and attacked delegates with dangerous weapons.

Eyewitnesses at the venue alleged that the attack was aimed at creating tension and disrupting the electoral process. However, security operatives quickly intervened and successfully repelled the attackers, ensuring that normalcy was restored without destruction of ballot materials.

Party members and delegates commended security personnel for their swift response, noting that their intervention prevented what could have escalated into a major crisis.

The incident was said to be against the directive of Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, who reportedly advocated for a peaceful and consensus-based primary election without opposition against the party’s preferred candidate.

In a new twist, Hon. Deji Bello later released a statement declaring himself as the candidate and claiming that he also conducted a separate primary election.

The development has since generated mixed reactions among party supporters and political stakeholders within the constituency, with many calling on the party leadership to clarify the authentic outcome of the primary process.

Political observers believe the emergence of parallel claims may deepen internal tensions within the party if urgent reconciliation efforts are not initiated.
