Molete Ward 1 Congress: INEC’s Declared Delegates Replaced with Altered List

Ìwó, Osun State – September 2025

Fresh controversy has trailed the ward congress of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Molete Ward 1, Ìwó Local Government, following the emergence of conflicting lists of elected ad-hoc delegates.

World Lens investigation confirmed that the congress, held on Saturday, 20th September 2025, was peacefully conducted under the supervision of the appointed Electoral Officer, with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and party stakeholders in attendance. At the end of collation, INEC officials openly announced Hon. Adetona Abeeb, Alhaji Adebisi Hammed, and Hon. Basiru Yakubu as the three duly elected delegates. The announcement was recorded on video, providing clear evidence of the authentic outcome.

However, shortly after the exercise, a memo surfaced accusing Hon. Mudasiru Nurudeen Emiloju, Special Adviser to the Governor on Community and Social Development Project (CSDP), of tampering with the process. The memo, signed by “Molete 1 congressmen,” alleged that he attempted to alter the names already declared by INEC.

The situation grew more complicated when another list appeared online, posted by a party member identified as Fortunate MRM. In this version, which was reportedly signed by the ward chairman, secretary, councillor, youth leader, and some ward executives, the names of the delegates were listed as Alhaji Nurudeen Emiloju, Opeyemi Mutiu Olanrewaju, and Mrs. Adewuni Fasilat.

The existence of these conflicting lists has raised serious concerns among party members and stakeholders, with many pointing to the INEC-supervised video evidence as proof of the authentic result. Observers warn that the attempt to substitute names against due process not only violates the party’s guidelines but also threatens peace and unity within the ward.

Party leaders at the local and state levels are now being urged to intervene and restore confidence in the system by affirming the INEC-declared list, which remains the only legitimate record of the Molete Ward 1 congress.
