Ìngawa LGA, Katsina State – September 1, 2025
Security operatives have intercepted a major arms movement in Katsina State with the arrest of two young men along Karkarku road in Ìngawa Local Government Area.
The suspects, identified as Abdulsalam Muhammad (28) and Aminu Mamman (23), both from Baure in Safana LGA, were apprehended while traveling in a blue Golf car with registration number RSH 528 BV. They were found in possession of a machine gun and 1,295 rounds of ammunition, reportedly on transit from Hadejia in Jigawa State to Katsina.
While this arrest marks a significant security breakthrough, it also underscores a troubling question: why are young men increasingly choosing the path of bullets over books? Beneath every gun haul lies a story of poverty, hopelessness, and wasted potential.
Today, lives may have been saved, but unless society confronts the roots of such dangerous choices, tomorrow may not be as fortunate.
