L&K said "as today marks the first day of the new Islamic year, let's try and rectify our affairs as we are drawing nearer to our graves.
"May Allaah grant us all good endings. Ameen".
He stated further that as the celebration of the Hijrah (New Year Celebration) is forbidden in Islam, once there was no traces that our noble Prophet Muhammad S.A.W celebrated it ceremonially, we should try to shun it as well.
"May God in His mercy gives us grace to witness more on earth in sound health, increasing wealth, divine wisdom, divine guidance and grace. Ameen", he said.
According to Sultanate Council, today is Yaomul Ssabt (Saturday) 1st of Muharram, 1444AH.
