Retrospect: The Day Alh Lukman Kayode Mudashir (L&K), Alh Nurudeen Mudashir Emiloju and Hon Sunday Olufemi Oroniyi Visited The Oluwo Palace To Solicit Oluwo's Support
History was made when the trio of Alhaji Nurudeen Emiloju, Hon Sunday Oroniyi and Alhaji Lukman Kayode Mudashir visited the reverred Paramount Ruler of Iwo Kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi (Telu 1), the Oluwo of Iwo land.
The visit was intended to pay homage to the monarch. Equally, it was meant to formally introduce one of his chiefs, Alhaji Lukman Mudashir (L&K) as the PDP flagbearer for Iwo/Ayedire/Olaoluwa Federal Constituency, solicit support for him and of course the People's Democratic Party.
While making his remark, Alhaji Nurudeen Emiloju reiterated how the contest for the house of representatives ticket of the PDP went. He stated that the primary election where he lost to L&K was free, fair and square. 'Every aspirant was given a level playing ground. We all campaigned, lobbied delegates and the primary went smoothly without a stint of manipulation' He said. Alh Emiloju urged the Oluwo to support the candidature of L&K, a man he's sure would not disappoint the monarch and the entire populace. He concluded by imploring the monarch to support PDP in all elections as it is the only party that can liberate and develop Iwoland.
The Aare Atunluse Of Iwoland, Hon Lukman Mudashir (L&K), while making his remarks, saluted Kabiyesi. He extolled his virtues and many quest of development. He equally appealed for the support of the monarch in the forthcoming 16th July Guber Election and 2023 General Election. He promised to deliver unequalled dividends of Democracy to the people of Iwo Federal Constituency if elected Rep. He then offered prayers for the Kabiyesi, beseeching God Almighty to elongate his reign in sound health and good wealth.
Hon Oroniyi in his words thanked Kabiyesi for receiving them in open arms as the father of all. He restated the fact PDP is not a party that disrespect monarchs. And that the party will always hold our traditional institution in high esteem. He concluded by telling Kabiyesi that the party is united and is ready to take power from the ruling APC, and provide good governance.
While responding, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi commended the trio and the entire leadership for not being part of disgruntled elements who made attempts to disrupt his peaceful and fortunate reign as Oba. He pledged his support for the trio and the party. He concluded by raining prayers on the candidature of L&K and his two other sons, Emiloju and Oroniyi.
