Abuja, Nigeria – Tuesday, October 7, 2025

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced that the main online recruitment examination for shortlisted candidates in the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres will hold on Thursday, October 9, 2025.

In a public notice released on Tuesday via its verified platforms, the Service disclosed that applicants have been divided into three batches — A, B, and C and are required to log in with their National Identification Number (NIN) through the official recruitment portal, https://updates.customs.gov.ng, to confirm their batch, date, and time of examination.

“The Main Online Recruitment Examination for all shortlisted Inspectorate and Customs Assistant Cadre applicants has been scheduled for Thursday, 9th October 2025,”
the statement read.

The NCS warned that strict compliance with the allocated batch and examination time is mandatory, stressing that any deviation may lead to disqualification.

Candidates were further advised against using calculators, mobile phones, or other electronic devices during the examination and cautioned not to log in multiple times or switch browser windows to avoid technical disruptions.

The Service clarified that this phase of the recruitment exercise applies only to candidates in the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres. Applicants under the Superintendent cadre, it added, will have their examination scheduled at a later date.

“Only Inspectorate and Customs Assistant Cadre applicants are to take part in this stage of the examination. Applicants of the Superintendent Cadre are not to participate at this stage,”
the statement emphasized.

The online examination forms part of the ongoing effort by the Nigeria Customs Service to ensure transparency and efficiency in its recruitment process.
