Police Rescue Five Abducted Children in Adamawa

 Mubi, Adamawa State – September 14, 2025 –
The Adamawa State Police Command has rescued five children abducted from Maiduguri, Borno State, and brought into Mubi, Adamawa.

Police spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed in a statement that the children—Adamu Musa (16), Suleiman Idris (10), Suleiman Mohammed (11), Dauda Yahaya (11), and Mohammed Alhassan (11) all residents of Gwange, Maiduguri, were found wandering the streets of Mubi town on September 13.

Investigations revealed they were taken by one Aliga Suleiman of Sabon Layi, Gwange, Maiduguri, who is currently on the run. The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, praised the Area Commander, ACP Marcos Mancha, and his team for the rescue, and ordered the State CID to ensure the suspect’s arrest and the safe reunification of the victims with their parents.

This latest rescue follows a similar operation last month, where 14 abducted children were intercepted while being trafficked to Anambra State. Authorities note that Adamawa, bordering Borno, has become a major transit route for traffickers due to insurgency and porous borders.
