Hon. Osunwo Buliaminu Jide (OBJ), aspirant for the Osun State House of Assembly (Ìwó Constituency), has joined Muslims across the world in celebrating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
OBJ described the Prophet’s life as the greatest example of compassion, justice, and leadership, urging all Muslims to emulate his noble character in their daily lives.
Quoting the Qur’ān, OBJ reminded believers of the divine gift of the Prophet to humanity:
Arabic:
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
Transliteration:
Wa mā arsalnāka illā raḥmatan lil-ʿālamīn
Translation:
“And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.” (Qur’ān 21:107)
“The Prophet’s birth is not just a historical event; it is a reminder of the mercy, guidance, and light Allah granted to mankind. As we mark this Mawlūd an-Nabiyy, let us strive to uphold the values of peace, unity, and brotherhood that he lived and died for,” OBJ said.
He prayed that this celebration renews the faith of the Muslim Ummah and strengthens communal harmony in Ìwó and Osun State.
