Drama as Osun Governor’s Spokesman Removes Colleague from Government Platform Over Road Appeal

Osogbo, Osun State – August 29, 2025

Tension brewed within the Osun State Government communication circle on Thursday after Governor Ademola Adeleke’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, removed a colleague from an official platform over an appeal concerning the Iwo–Osogbo road project.

The aide, identified as Nurudeen Mudashir Emiloju, a Special Assistant to the Governor, was said to have raised concerns regarding the reconstruction of the Iwo–Osogbo road on the platform. His intervention, however, reportedly triggered a swift reaction from Rasheed, who removed him from the group.

The development sparked mixed reactions among government insiders, with some describing the move as “hasty” and unnecessary, while others defended the spokesperson’s action as an effort to maintain order within official channels.

The Iwo–Osogbo road has been at the center of public discourse in recent weeks, with the state government insisting that the project had been approved months earlier and that contractors are already mobilizing to site.

As of press time, neither Rasheed nor Emiloju had issued a formal statement on the matter.
